Man busted by own home alarm

Especially if away from our residence we hope that our Wireless Alarm Systems, allow police to catch any wrong doing. Often times nothing is wrong, yet we are always thankful the authorities came to do their due diligence and investigate the matter. However for one man in Isabella County, Michigan quite the opposite is true.
On Wednesday afternoon local authorities responded when they received a signal from a home alarm in the Mt. Pleasant area. Thinking it was either a routine call or perhaps they would catch a breaking and entering in progress, instead the police stumbled upon another form of criminal activity. The home was illegally growing marijuana on their property.
The officers first discovered signs of the plant as they were sweeping the property after responding to the home alarm. Armed with possible cause, the officers went back and obtained an official search warrant for the entire premise. Once a full investigation was completed the officers removed a total of over nine pounds of the drugs, as well as 152 growing plants from the residence in Union Township.
